Medical Director, FL PACE Centers
Miami Jewish Health is one of the largest providers of healthcare and living options for aging adults in the Southeast. We operate Florida PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Centers, the largest PACE program in Florida, which serves as health plan, healthcare provider, and social center designed for older adults with complex medical needs. About the Role
The Medical Director is responsible for the clinical aspects of the Florida PACE Centers program, providing direct clinical supervision to the medical care staff and assisting in related administrative tasks under the general supervision of the Florida PACE Centers, Inc. Chief Medical Director.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct primary care, including inpatient management, in-home visits, routine assessments, reassessments, and episodic care as indicated.
- Educates participants and caregivers to assist in developing advanced directives for participants' healthcare wishes and ensures those wishes for end-of-life care are followed.
- Participates in daily interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintains relevant parts of charts according to MJH, State of Florida, and CMS guidelines.
- Communicates with families according to PACE/MJH guidelines in a courteous and timely manner.
- Serves as a liaison between the PACE program, MJH, and the physician community.
- Provides information and conducts presentations as required.
- Formulates, develops, and executes medical plans, policies, and programs for the PACE Program.
- Serves on committees and attends a variety of meetings, department meetings, and in-services as needed.
- Ensures residents'/patients' rights are adhered to and demonstrates professionalism and accountability.
- Demonstrates a caring attitude toward MJH residents, patients, family members, employees, and facility guests.
- Ensures confidentiality and security of patients' medical information.
- Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication.
- Adheres to the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Participates in departmental activities, meetings, and in-services, and follows established guidelines.
- Maintains a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical or Osteopathic School.
- Fellowship trained in Geriatrics preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience; supervisory and administrative experience preferred.
- Valid State of Florida Medical License required.
- Board Certification.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License & Proof of Insurance.
