Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical and clinical oversight of behavioral health and SUD services.
- Serve as Medical Director for Agency behavioral health programs.
- Provide psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and psychiatric and SUD assessments.
- Manage medications and prescribe psychotropic medications.
- Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MOUD/MAT).
- Provide crisis psychiatric consultation when clinically appropriate.
- Conduct suicide and violence risk assessments.
- Develop treatment plans and provide patient and family education.
- Review laboratory results and monitor medications.
- Provide withdrawal management consultation within scope of practice.
- Provide telepsychiatry services when applicable.
Interdisciplinary Care
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Consult with therapists, CADCs, counselors, case managers, nursing staff, and leadership.
- Review complex cases and support clinical decision-making for high-risk clients.
Quality & Clinical Governance
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including periodic chart reviews and documentation sign-offs.
- Promote evidence-based psychiatric and substance use treatment.
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Develop, review, and approve clinical policies, procedures, standing orders, and clinical protocols.
Strategic Support
- Assist with strategic planning and service expansion.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the guidelines of the position.
