About the role
Vituity is seeking an Emergency Medicine Medical Director to join our team in Delano, CA. This position offers up to $100k sign-on bonus, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to lead a practice while contributing to Vituity's mission.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and champion Vituity’s purpose, mission, vision, values, culture of brilliance, and strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all Vituity requirements and policies.
- Monitor healthcare and economic trends, assess their impact, and strategize a comprehensive annual practice management plan.
- Select and align the responsibilities of the administrative management team to achieve practice goals.
- Maintain Vituity policies and fiduciary obligations, and ensure strict adherence from all providers.
- Foster open communication and transparent decision-making, conduct annual reviews of administrative stipends and scheduling preferences.
- Understand and uphold hospital expectations, and rigorously comply with all contract terms.
- Implement Vituity initiatives and operational programs to improve performance, streamline workflows, and increase efficiency.
- Monitor site financial performance, identify growth areas, and optimize reimbursement for the practice.
- Develop expertise in budget, financial performance measures, billing, and reimbursement issues.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for new providers, and mentor staff for professional growth.
- Evaluate physician performance and competencies, and counsel, suspend, or remove staff as necessary.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to ensure practice representation and value.
- Participate in contract negotiations and lead leadership roles in hospital management, medical staff leadership, and other committees.
Requirements
- Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency through an accredited residency program.
- Maintain membership and privileges on Hospital’s medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of Hospital’s medical staff.
- Physician Partnership status.
- Five (5) years or more experience in a leadership role.

Qualifications
- Delano Regional Medical Center – 156-bed facility with 10 ED beds and 4 rapid treatment spaces, handling an annual volume of 30,000 with approximately 84 patients per day.
- In-house general surgery, hospitalists, and OB/GYN services.
- Cross-credentialed at Adventist Health Bakersfield and Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District.

Pay
Estimated annual base compensation of $275,000 – $900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience. Compensation for part-time and per diem roles is prorated based on clinical hours worked.
