Responsibilities

• Communicate and champion Vituity’s purpose, mission, vision, values, and strategy to ensure alignment.
• Assure compliance with all Vituity requirements and policies, and communicate them to all providers.
• Monitor healthcare and economic trends, assessing their impact on the practice and local region.
• Develop and execute an annual practice management plan with clear goals, surpassing expectations.
• Lead the local administrative team, aligning responsibilities to achieve practice goals.
• Ensure strict adherence to Vituity policies and fiduciary obligations by all providers.
• Foster open communication and transparent decision-making in line with Vituity’s Partnership Principles.
• Uphold hospital expectations and comply with all contract terms.
• Monitor operational and quality metrics, implementing initiatives to improve performance.
• Assess and improve operational processes using technology and best practices.
• Monitor site financial performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Develop expertise in yearly budgets, financial performance measures, and billing/reimbursement systems.
• Optimize patient census and billing practices to improve reimbursement.
• Maintain relationships with payers such as IPAs, Medical Groups, Foundations, and ACOs.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new providers.
• Provide mentoring and development opportunities for providers and staff.
• Evaluate physician and PA/NP performance in compliance with Vituity policies.
• Monitor physician competencies and take corrective action as needed.
• Participate in contract negotiations with the Regional Director.
• Develop collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and healthcare teams.
• Represent the practice in leadership roles and hospital committees.

Requirements

• Licensed physician with an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program.
• Maintain membership and privileges on the hospital’s medical staff, complying with all bylaws and policies.
• Physician Partnership status required.
• Five or more years of experience in a leadership role.
• Experience working in an academic setting with current residents is desired.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior clinical skills and interpersonal leadership abilities.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage projects effectively.
• Experience collaborating with diverse individuals across multiple locations.
• Strong relationship-building and technical skills.
• Understanding of accounting and finance principles.

The Practice

Ascension St. Vincent – Evansville, Indiana, is a Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center with a 350-bed facility and a 46-bed Emergency Department. The practice has an annual volume of 50,000 patients with a 28% admit/transfer combined rate. Vituity Scribe support is available, and the team includes excellent ED physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and consultants. Double coverage is provided throughout the day at 1.7 patients per hour. Candidates with experience in an academic setting are desired.

Pay

Estimated annual base compensation of $275,000 – $900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience. Compensation for part-time and per diem roles is prorated based on clinical hours worked. Physicians participate in Vituity’s partnership model from day one, which includes profit distributions, equity ownership, and K-1 tax advantages. Total compensation, including partnership income, varies by site and may significantly exceed the range shown.
