About the role
Cape Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, newly renovated practice located in Cape May Courthouse, NJ. We are a growing primary care service comprised of a team of veterinary technicians, assistants, and doctors dedicated to offering their patients the best of care and developing a culture of excellence. We are minutes from the beach and just over an hour from Philadelphia. Our practice recently underwent major renovations to upgrade the office space including the addition of digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, and cutting laser, to provide for a modern workflow and the tools needed to practice high quality medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality veterinary care to small animals, small ruminants, and potbellied pigs.
- Perform routine check-ups, vaccinations, and other preventative care measures.
- Assist in surgical procedures using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Conduct dental exams and extractions as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure they understand their pet’s health status and care plan.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest veterinary practices and technologies.
Requirements
- Valid NJ license or ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Interest in high-quality medicine and surgery.
- Experience in veterinary medicine is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Pass a background check.
Qualifications
- Education in veterinary medicine or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology.
- Basic understanding of pharmacology and medical terminology.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
