Our remote Medical Billing Specialists ensure clean claims, maximize reimbursements, and maintain compliance—all while supporting providers to focus on patient care, not paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit insurance claims accurately and timely across multiple payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial carriers).
• Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorizations prior to service delivery.
• Resolve claim denials and rejections by researching root causes, appealing with proper documentation, and coordinating with providers.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure coding accuracy (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) aligned with documentation.
• Monitor aging AR, follow up on outstanding balances, and post payments with precision in practice management systems.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal/state billing regulations and payer-specific policies to ensure full compliance.

Requirements

• Electronic Health Records (EHR) / Practice Management Systems (e.g., NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth)
• ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding proficiency
• Medicare & Medicaid billing rules
• Insurance claim submission & denial management
• Clearinghouse platforms (e.g., Change Healthcare, Availity, Waystar)
• Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• 5010 HIPAA transaction standards
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under deadline pressure

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) (preferred)
• Experience with surgical or ambulatory surgery center billing (preferred)
• Knowledge of ASC- and hospital-based billing workflows (preferred)
