Medical Billing Specialist

Robert Half is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in the Waterloo area to find a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to support critical care services by ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and strong revenue cycle performance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Admissions, Clinical, and Finance teams to support the full revenue cycle process.
• Manage patient billing and revenue cycle activities to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
• Submit, track, and resolve Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claims.
• Monitor accounts receivable and investigate claim denials.
• Maintain Medicare billing requirements, including NOEs, NOTRs, and prior authorizations.
• Partner with Admissions, Clinical, and Finance teams to support documentation, billing accuracy, and reimbursement.
• Provide billing system support, troubleshoot EMR issues, and educate staff on billing processes and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• Prior billing experience within the healthcare industry is desired.
• Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid is a plus.
