Medical Billing Specialist
About the role
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical insurance billing, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This position requires proficiency in data entry, analytical problem-solving, customer service, and the use of 10-key systems. A working knowledge of Windows platform, Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
Responsibilities
- Accurately post charges and insurance payments.
- Efficiently manage claims denials, including appeals or refiling of claims.
- Draft letters to insurance companies as needed.
- Handle provider credentialing with insurance companies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience (dermatology experience preferred but not required).
- Stable employment history with proven longevity in previous positions.
- Experience navigating claims denials, appeals, and insurance credentialing processes.
