Medical Biller

About the role

This is a contract, hybrid position based in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Reprocess old claims for 1 specific provider.
• Review and verify accuracy of medical claims and invoices submitted by healthcare providers.
• Enter billing and payment information into electronic systems.
• Ensure all billing and payment information complies with insurance regulations and coding standards.
• Follow up with insurance companies and patients to resolve payment issues and disputes.
• Communicate with healthcare providers and patients regarding billing and payment questions and concerns.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of billing and payment transactions.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in medical billing regulations and coding systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare administration.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical billing software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
