About the role

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience and clinic efficiency. They are responsible for welcoming patients, documenting vitals and medical histories accurately, performing various procedures, and supporting healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients warmly and create a positive first impression
• Register patients, perform vitals, and document medical history in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Support providers during patient visits
• Perform blood draws, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection as permitted
• Register patients, handle insurance verification, schedule appointments, and collect payments
• Ensure accurate and organized documentation within the EMR
• Support the team during busy shifts by being flexible and contributing positively
• Help maintain a clean, efficient, and welcoming clinic environment

Requirements

• Prior clinical experience with 1-2+ years in an outpatient setting
• A friendly, polished, and professional demeanor
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Flexibility to work varying clinic schedules and nearby locations
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn and grow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR certification
• Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
