What We Are Looking For
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
- Administers medications according to policy and provider direction, adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs blood draws and urine collection for various tests, including employer drug screens.
- Conducts splinting and casting as needed.
- Performs various types of physicals, such as sports physicals.
- Performs ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration as required.
- Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of any unusual patient occurrences, including medication events, and documents them on an incident report.
- Notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns immediately.
- Fulfills other related duties as directed by company policy or as assigned.

They are responsible for maintaining a professional and respectful relationship with patients and staff, managing patient flow, and performing various medical tasks in both the front and back offices.
Essential Education, Experience & Skills
- Arizona: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam administered by AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
- Other states: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam administered by AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
- OR: Unapproved (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program; at least one year of employment as a Medical Assistant after program completion; or at least 2000 hours of supervised work experience under a Provider or Physician Group.
