What We Are Looking For

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and works well in a team. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
• Administers medications according to policy and provider direction, adhering to safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and urine collections as directed by the provider.
• Conducts splinting and casting as needed.
• Performs various types of physicals, such as sports physicals.
• Performs ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration as required.
• Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of any unusual patient occurrences, including medication events, and documents these on an incident report.
• Notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns immediately.
• Fulfills other related duties as outlined by company policy or as assigned.

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the organization by ensuring smooth operations and providing high-quality patient care. They are responsible for maintaining a professional demeanor, managing patient flow, and performing administrative tasks in the front office when needed.

Essential Education, Experience And Skills

• Arizona: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam through AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
• All Other States: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam through AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
• OR: Unapproved (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program; at least one year of employment as a Medical Assistant after program completion; or at least 2000 hours of supervised work experience under a provider or physician group.
