What We Are Looking For
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and works well in a team. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
- Administers medications according to policy and provider direction, adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs blood draws and urine collection for various tests, including employer drug screens.
- Conducts splinting and casting, performs physicals like sports physicals, and handles wound care and oxygen administration.
- Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of unusual patient occurrences and incidents, and reports patient or employee safety concerns.
- Follows laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
- Uses proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Supports the front office by keeping patients informed of wait times, monitoring patient flow, processing discharges, and collecting payments.

Essential Education, Experience & Skills
- Arizona: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam (CMA, RMA, CCMA).
- All Other States: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam (CMA, RMA, CCMA).
- OR: Unapproved (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program; at least one year of employment as a Medical Assistant after program completion; or at least 2000 hours of supervised work experience under a Provider or Physician Group.
