Medical Assistant - UI Health Care Cedar Rapids Endo Clinic 80%

About the role

The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient-centered 80% (32 hours a week) Medical Assistant II (MA II) to work at our UICC Cedar Rapids Specialty Adult Endocrinology Clinic. This position will mainly support our Endo Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics.

Responsibilities

• Supports Family Medicine Clinic patients under direct supervision of LIP, RN, NM/ANM, or other licensed designee.
• Performs technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
• May involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.

Qualifications

• Certification OR registration as a Medical Assistant OR completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program, OR completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology.
• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.
• Previous EPIC experience (highly desired).
• Current or previous Endo experience (experience within the past 2 years) (highly desired).
• Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical needs/hours (highly desired).
• Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role (highly desired).
• Previous phlebotomy experience (desirable).
• Current Diabetes Experience (desirable).
• Previous CGM Experience (desirable).
• Previous immunization experience (desirable).

• Salary range: $33,374.59 (at 80% time) - $49,577.47 (at 80% time)/ Hourly: $19.98 - $29.68 (based on years of experience).

Pay Grade and Schedule

• Pay Grade: 9
• Schedule: Variable hours Monday - Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. No on call time, weekends, or holidays required.
