Medical Assistant PRN - Pediatric Primary Care Clinic

About the Role
Supports the licensed healthcare team in performing office examinations and procedures by organizing and managing clinic patient flow, gathering and documenting patient screening data, assisting with patient and family education, and communicating with the patient's healthcare team.

Consideration may be given to candidates who can obtain certification within 120 days, in accordance with state guidelines. Candidates with 12 months of patient care experience may sit for the certification exam.
Responsibilities
- Directs and supports patient flow as well as unit operations by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
- Facilitates identification of resources to meet patient healthcare needs.
- Performs and assists with procedures according to organizational and departmental standards.
- Collects and documents patient screening data for the healthcare team.
- Assists with patient and family education.
Additional duties may be assigned.
Technical Capabilities
- Clinical Patient Documentation: Has limited experience or training working with clinical applications for patient documentation.
- Clinical Competencies: Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency to assist and perform clinical care including vital signs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, medication administration, and point-of-care testing as directed by unit standards.
- Environment of Care: Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency with setup and maintenance of patient exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.

Requirements
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
- Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Certification from a recognized organization (see list above). Consideration may be given to candidates who can obtain certification within 120 days.
Schedule
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
