Medical Assistant -PRN - Family Medicine Center
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in assessing patient needs based on gathered data.
- Executes direct patient care tasks such as triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge, and follow-up instructions.
- Prepares patients for provider visits and documents pertinent information.
- Prepares and administers medications as directed by the physician.
- Assists providers with treatments and procedures as needed.
- Schedules testing and referral appointments for patients.
- Communicates with patients via phone, addressing issues or referring them to the physician.
- Follows up with patients as necessary.
- Cleans and organizes examination rooms, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
- Maintains medical equipment and reports malfunctions promptly.
- Monitors and restocks medical supplies, checking expiration dates and disposing of outdated items.
- Develops and updates knowledge of all equipment used in the practice.
- Schedules and reschedules appointments as required.
- Encourages patients to use MyChart for communication.
- Promotes a learning environment and participates in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
- Supports the practice mission and philosophy by projecting a positive image.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
