Medical Assistant, PRN

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, take vitals, perform various tests, assist with procedures, and provide patient care.
• Register patients, verify insurance coverage, handle financial responsibilities, and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Educate patients on procedures, financial aspects of their care, provide discharge instructions, and handle patient concerns professionally.
• Participate in team meetings, ensure compliance with standards, and maintain logs for equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) required at hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance verification and patient registration.
• Active BLS certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Prior experience in urgent care or emergency room settings preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and venipuncture skills.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Compensation

The expected pay range for this role is $XX.XX - XX.XX per hour, with possible shift differentials. Final compensation will be based on experience, certifications, education, and location.
