Medical Assistant - Primary Care - Mercy Jefferson
About the role
Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Duties and responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Responsibilities
- Partner with patients, providers, and the clinical care team to deliver patient-centered care
- Perform duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must attend MA Clinic Academy training upon hire
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required for hospital outpatient departments)
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- One year of experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting
Equivalent certifications: CMA, RMA, CCMA, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant
