About the role
MaineHealth is searching for a Medical Assistant to join their team at MaineHealth Primary Care - Family and Internal Medicine - Norway.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients
- Completing medication refills
- Managing follow-ups from endoscopy procedures
- Inputting labs
- Abstracting charts
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred; must meet one of the following requirements: accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed, completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting, or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Licenses/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required (exempt for MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years); current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date (fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement); NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire
- Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant

The base range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
