About the role
A Medical Assistant assists Doctors and Nurses in providing care to their patients. Duties include recording and updating medical histories, contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments, and performing standard care procedures such as drawing blood, checking vitals, or collecting lab samples.
Responsibilities
- Recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals, or collecting lab samples
- Assisting the provider to offer the highest quality of medical care in a productive and efficient manner
- Understanding the mechanics of the clinic and its interrelation with other clinic teams
- Communicating clearly and effectively with patients
Requirements
- Experience preferred
- Must be certified with the State of MS Board of Nursing
- Must have CPR
