Medical Assistant - PED SURGERY

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Collects and prepares routine laboratory samples for testing.
• Follows up on test orders and communicates results to both the provider and patient.
• Provides and updates patient education materials.
• Maintains medical equipment and orders necessary clinical supplies.
• Enters and updates patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
• Performs other tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six months of employment or proof of active license/certification.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification.
• Paramedic certification.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of medical assistant experience preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Full-time position with hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with possible variations.
