About the Role
Part-Time Medical Assistant at our Patchogue office. We employ college graduates and gap-year students interested in the medical field, whether you have majored in the sciences or are switching tracks. Open to candidates with no prior experience but who demonstrate an interest in healthcare, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Schedule
Part-time, less than 30 hours per week. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7:00 AM–7:30 PM. Flexibility to cover shifts in a team environment is required.
Responsibilities
- Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the quality of service and care for patients and providers
- Assist physicians in medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures
- Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures within established guidelines
- Understand provider-to-patient flow and anticipate the provider’s next steps
- Prepare rooms before and after patients, including checking equipment at the start of each shift
- Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
- Scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily; alert Head MA and/or GM of low inventory
- Perform inventory responsibilities and stock supplies and equipment as requested
- Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities
Requirements
- Dermatology experience preferred
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Excellent patient relations and customer service skills
- Open availability to work weekdays and weekends
Pay
Hourly pay range: $19–24
