About the role
Patriot Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in Eldersburg, MD. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to providers and team members to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a high quality and consistent approach to patient care
- Be the liaison between patients and medical providers
- Provide exceptional support to providers and team members
- Escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate
- Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood, and assist provider with any procedures in/out of exam room
- Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions
- Complete medical charting to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used
- Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals
- Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory
- Complete all necessary documentation and ensure patient confidentiality
Requirements
- Must be detail oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, be competent in medical best practices, and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate
- BLS/CPR certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of clinical experience preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant (Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or a certificate of completion from your school is preferred, but not required)
- Nurse (LPN) must provide proof of current certification
- Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate
- BLS/CPR certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of clinical experience preferred
Skills
- Strong customer service and problem-solving / communication skills
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR system
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Perform clinical intake including obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications, chief complaint, obtain vital signs and records information within EMR system
- Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood and assist provider with any procedures in/out of exam room

Pay
- Hourly Salary Range: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA): $17.00 - $24.00
Schedule
- Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays
- MA / LPN positions may require travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts
- Access to reliable transportation is required
- Mileage is paid for travel that occurs outside of your defined home region
