Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred
- Must meet one of the following requirements:
- Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed
- Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting
- 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility
- Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date
- A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire
- Experience:
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant
- 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant
