About the role

As a Medical Assistant in Orthopedics at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a key role in supporting patients with musculoskeletal injuries, conditions, and treatments. You will work closely with multiple orthopedic providers, assisting with patient visits, procedures, care coordination, and follow-up care while helping ensure an efficient clinic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and visit details.
  • Aid providers with examinations, injections, casting and splinting support, procedures, and specialty clinical workflows.
  • Prepare patients for office visits, procedures, and surgical consultations.
  • Cook up referrals, imaging studies, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, medication refills, and follow-up appointments.
  • Communicate provider recommendations, test results, treatment plans, and patient education materials.
  • Respond to patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with procedure room preparation, inventory management, and equipment readiness.
  • Support preoperative and postoperative patient education and care coordination.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support orthopedic clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification required (available upon hire).
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience in a physician office, orthopedic clinic, sports medicine, or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to adapt to changing patient volumes and clinical needs.

Pay

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 - $24.18 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
