Medical Assistant- Orthopedic Surgery Clinic- Full Time

About the role

We provide individualized, medical care of assigned patients in person, electronically and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. Our team supports the delivery of health care services to patients of various backgrounds and ages, fostering positive relationships with patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit
• Maintains positive relationships with patients and their families
• Communicates via phone to ensure patient needs are met timely and accurately
• Accesses company's data systems to document pertinent medical information
• Supports the attending physician during the patient visit
• Completes appropriate documentation including patient registration if necessary
• Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials through personal professional development
• Handles other duties as assigned effectively and efficiently
• Meets the procedures of the Department of Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs, if working in an occupational health clinic

Requirements

• Experience working with and maintaining confidential information
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
