Pay
- MA State Certified Wage Range: $24.91 - $39.85 per hour
- Nationally Certified Wage Range: $27.45 - $43.92 per hour
- Bonus: Up to $5,000 for those new to EvergreenHealth with a minimum of one year of experience
- Bonus: Up to $2,500 for new MA graduates
About the role
Responsible for assisting providers in delivering quality patient care and promoting a culture of safety.
Responsibilities
- Greets and rooms patients per standard
- Takes patient history and vital signs
- Prepares patients for exam
- Assists provider with exam, surgical procedures, and diagnostic testing
- Maintains appropriate sterile environment for clinical procedures or situations, adhering to Washington State standards for transmission precautions
- Administers injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular) per provider orders
- Utilizes EMR efficiently and follows appropriate processes for entering and retrieving data
- Communicates clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent, or applicable coursework to obtain required WA State Medical Assistant Certification
- Current WA State Medical Assistant Certification
- Current national certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
- Proficient with medical terminology
Qualifications
- National certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) strongly preferred
- 1 year of MA experience in a medical office or healthcare setting (desired)
