About the role

Vail Health is a leading mountain healthcare system offering exceptional care in a stunning setting. The hospital is a 520,000-square-foot facility with 56 beds, centrally located in Vail.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains, monitors, and records vital signs, patient history, and invasive procedures, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation in the patient's Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Fields patient phone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Assists providers and other clinical staff with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
  • Prepares patients for scheduled procedures, including venipunctures, injections, and initiates intravenous therapy as necessary.
  • Maintains patient documentation and communicates the plan of care with the provider, including ordered diagnostics or therapeutic services.
  • Safeguards the cleanliness, adequacy of supplies, and functionality of equipment in examination rooms. Replaces supplies as needed and cleans and sterilizes equipment and tools.
  • Completes shift opening and closing procedures.
  • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, adhering to HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.
  • Ability to perform venipunctures, administer injections, and initiate intravenous therapy preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • One of the following licenses is required prior to starting: Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, MAC), LPN, RN, or Paramedic.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $23.20 - $31 USD
