Medical Assistant OBGYN Clinic

This position is based at the OBGYN Budge Clinic in Logan, Utah, with a strong focus on clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and a positive workplace culture.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team to ensure patients receive the best care. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly with patients, and assist providers in delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a clinician, assisting in gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Communicate clearly with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and follow-through in all aspects of patient care.

Requirements

• One of the following:
  • Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program, or
  • At least one year of Medical Assistant work experience, or
  • Current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Demonstrated basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high levels of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Commitment to protecting privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
• Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
• Current national MA certification from one of the following:
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT,
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA),
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions requiring clear verbal communication, hearing, and understanding of spoken information, alarms, and patient needs, especially during emergencies.
• Manual dexterity for precise manipulation of complex and delicate equipment, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation, accessing information, and medication preparation.
• Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve and carry supplies, and handle items of varying weights, including heavy items.
• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients, pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, and navigating crowded or busy rooms.
• May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
• For roles requiring driving: Ability to drive a vehicle, including sitting, seeing, and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Schedule

• Tuesday – Thursday: 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Friday: 7:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Every 6 weeks: On-call Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Scheduled weekly hours: 36

Pay

Hourly rate: $20.07 - $28.59 (actual rate dependent upon experience).
