About the role

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. The Medical Assistant position involves providing a wide variety of patient care activities to clients of all ages under the supervision of physicians and medical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of patient care activities to clients of all ages.
  • Provide thorough health services to patients and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
  • Deliver the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), ABR-OE from AAMA, RMA from AMT, NCMA from NCCT, RMA from ARMA, NRCMA from NAHP, CMAC from AMCA, CCMA from NHA, or Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from NCCT.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card.
  • Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

Preferred Experience

  • Six (6) months medical assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of CPT and/or ICD-10 Coding.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.

Pay Range: 26.60 - 28.00 USD per hour
