About the role

The role involves performing basic nursing skills and serving under the direction and supervision of the practice physician and/or registered nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms;
  • Prepares for physician visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs;
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies;
  • Auxiliary participation in and/or performance of exams, tests, and procedures;
  • Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed;
  • Auxiliary support during patient examinations and procedures;
  • Education of patients on follow-up expectations;
  • Maintenance of quality control testing logs as required;
  • Ensuring all medical equipment is in proper working condition;
  • Auxiliary assistance with patient documentation;
  • Auxiliary support with office administrative tasks such as answering phones, taking messages, performing office-related tasks (copying, printing, data entry), and assisting with depositing cash and other closing duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR one (1) year of experience in a clinical setting;
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Qualifications

  • Completion of healthcare education course work;
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience.

  • Ability to use and care of all equipment including printers, embossers, and computers;
  • Effective communication with staff and patients;
  • Adaptability to changing environments;
  • Organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
