Medical Assistant - Medical Oncology Clinic

About the role

This position assists providers and the nursing team in delivering professional medical care. We provide training and support for those new to the role or without formal Medical Assistant training through our 10-week paid Medical Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Pre-visit planning
• Rooming patients and obtaining vitals
• Utilizing the EMR system
• Scanning and downloading documents
• Telephone screening (with protocols)
• Phlebotomy
• Assisting with procedures as needed
• Additional duties as assigned based on clinic needs

Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor are required at all times.

Medical Assistant Training Program

The 10-week paid program includes:

• Comprehensive review of body systems, pharmacology, medical terminology, and lab values
• BLS certification
• Introduction to Saint Luke’s culture with an emphasis on customer service and patient safety
• Exposure to a variety of Saint Luke’s Physician Group clinics

Schedule:

• Week 1-5: In-class didactic content
• Week 5-8: Clinicals with instructor
• Week 9-10: Home clinic orientation with Success Coach

Next session starts on October 19.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Certified Medical Assistant (various certifications accepted)
