Responsibilities
- Schedule patients, obtain pre-authorizations, and register them.
- Gather and analyze payor data.
- Perform basic medical screenings, vital signs, specimen collection, bladder scans, EKGs, and more.
- Administer medications and vaccinations.
- Provide wound care, suturing, stapling, and bandaging.
- Aid providers with sterile and non-sterile procedures.
- Assist with splinting and other medical procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or military educational program with an honorable discharge.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology.
- Critical thinking, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Pass a pre-employment screening test with scores of 80% or better.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work in assigned areas and other clinics.
Qualifications
- 6 months of clerical experience and relevant patient care experience.
- Active certification as a CCMA, CMA, or RMA.
- Education related to medical billing, patient registration, and scheduling.
- Experience with point of care testing, CLIA waived testing, and wound care.
- Experience with various procedures and tests, such as pulmonary function tests.
- Experience with Epic In-Basket management.
- Specific experience for ENT, Ortho, and Surgery clinics.
