Responsibilities

  • Record patient’s medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examination, ensuring they are neat, clean, and stocked.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the Physician.
  • Provide medically appropriate instructions to patients under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
  • Ensure all related patient information is in the electronic record prior to appointments.
  • Prepare FMLA, prior authorizations, and disability paperwork.
  • Collaborate and work closely with other medical assistants and ancillary staff.
  • Contribute to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers by following established standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Schedule new and follow-up appointments.

Requirements

  • A GED or High School Diploma.
  • At least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, including understanding of back-office documentation such as Rx refills, lab requests, and FMLA paperwork.
  • Experience with EMR systems, particularly Epic.
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills, including proficiency with medical software.
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments.
  • Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in high-stress situations.
  • Adept at managing multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized manner.

Qualifications

  • National certification is highly preferred (certification can be in process as long as it is obtained within 30-60 days).
  • Eagerness to grow knowledge of medical, organizational, and administrative practices.

Additional Skills

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Eagerness to provide compassionate care during challenging life seasons for patients.

Work Environment

Located in McMinnville, OR, the position operates on a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch. The practice is dedicated to meeting the growing need for high-quality rheumatology care in the Salem, Oregon area and the surrounding Willamette Valley. The team is committed to providing excellent care close to home and operates efficiently with less expense compared to hospital care. The work environment fosters quality, compassion, and service, treating a variety of conditions, including Immune-Mediated Inflammatory Diseases, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Gout, Lupus, and Rheumatoid Arthritis, among others.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McMinnville, OR.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.32 - $29.72/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
