About the role

The Medical Assistant (MA) supports Physician Services providers at Lake Cumberland Physician Practices (LCPP) by providing high-quality clinical care and administrative support. This role is essential in ensuring efficient clinic operations, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience. The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support both patient flow and revenue cycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Documents patient care given.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
