Medical Assistant (MA) - Pediatrics
For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Medical Assistants:
- 0-1 years of experience: $4,000 (full-time)
- 1+ years of experience: $5,000 (full-time)
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
About the Role
MaineHealth Pediatrics in Kennebunk is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join their busy outpatient pediatric practice. This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional care to children and families in the community.
Responsibilities
- Support providers with clinical and administrative duties, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, administering vaccines, and coordinating patient care.
- Show strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
- Licenses/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
