Medical Assistant
About the role
The role of Medical Assistant at Fertility Centers of Illinois in Hinsdale, Illinois is available immediately. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Central Time, with additional weekend coverage for IUI procedures at the Chestnut clinic.
Responsibilities
- Perform high volume of phlebotomy
- Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
- Injection administration
- Aid in the clinical care of fertility patients
- Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
- Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicate physician orders and instructions
- Perform semen washes and set up for IUIs
- Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
- Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients' families
- Support and promote excellence in customer service
Requirements
- Strong phlebotomy skills required
- High School diploma
- Completion of a formal MA program (preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
- Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology

Pay
$21 to $23 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Central Time; IUI coverage at the Chestnut clinic 4 to 6 weekend days per year
