Medical Assistant (MA), Commerce Urgent Care (TEMP, 12hr Shifts)

About the Role
The Medical Assistant I (MA I) is an unlicensed healthcare professional who performs routine technical services within the medical practice settings under the supervision of the physician and the department’s leadership staff. The associate in this role possesses knowledge and skills to function efficiently in the back office and/or front office.
This is a full-time temporary non-benefitted position supporting the Commerce Urgent Care clinic located in Orange, CA. The clinic is open daily from 12pm - 12am, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Graduate of a vocational school having successfully completed requirements for Medical Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Medical Assistant Diploma.
- Proficient in medical terminology.
- Previous work experience or externship in a healthcare setting (preferred).
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred).
Skills
- Knowledge and ability to provide patient care tailored to diverse needs.
- Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used in functional areas.
Work Environment
- High energy level with functional demand rated as medium.
- Physical activities include:
- Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling +/- 150-200 lbs (e.g., patients on bed or stretcher).
- Lateral transfer of 150-200 lbs (e.g., patient).
- Bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pinching/fine motor activities, pushing/pulling, reaching (forward and overhead), sitting, squatting/kneeling/crawling, standing, talking/hearing, twisting, walking, wrist position deviation.
- Occasional lifting:
- Floor to waist level: 0-35%.
- Waist level and above: 0-35%.
- Sensory requirements:
- Color discrimination, depth perception, far vision, hearing, near vision.
- Environmental exposure to:
- Airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust particulate matter, extreme noise levels, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces or elevations.
Pay
Pay Range:
- Minimum: $23.00 per hour
- Midpoint: $28.77 per hour
- Maximum: $34.54 per hour
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Schedule
Evening shift – 12 hours (12pm - 12am), including weekends and holidays.
