Responsibilities

  • Performs routine office procedures safely and effectively.
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance of the laboratory area and equipment logs.
  • Collections updated patient information and charts patient exams in the EMR within the time parameters of the patient appointment.
  • Handles patients private health information within the guidelines of HIPAA and company privacy practices.
  • Administers medications and treatments as directed.
  • Affixes assistance to other healthcare professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and minor medical procedures.
  • Provides patient education materials and communicates physician advice/instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Assisting or related field.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
