About the role

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializes in providing comprehensive patient care, conducting physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and managing patient health. They collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts in-depth patient interviews and physical examinations.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and performs necessary procedures.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Communicates with other healthcare professionals and facilitates patient care coordination.
  • Maintains compliance with policies and procedures, ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience as an NP in the specialty area preferred.
  • Other certifications and experience as required by the specialty area.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license from the CA Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) license from the CA Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Nurse Practitioner Furnisher (CA DCA) license.
  • DEA Certificate from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
  • National Board Certification in the NP’s area of specialty accredited by ABSNC or NCCA.
  • Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) from ANCC or AACN.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date (required within LA City only).
