Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatric After Hours & Specialty Clinic

About the Role

This position supports pediatric outpatient and after-hours care, functioning under RN supervision to perform clinical duties that ensure quality patient care in an engaging environment with energetic teams, ideal for individuals passionate about pediatric care.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients
• Taking vital signs and health histories
• Documenting in electronic medical records
• Administering injections
• Assisting with minor procedures
• Supporting a patient-centered approach

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Effective communication skills
• Basic medical terminology knowledge
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and make accurate observations

Licensure & Certifications

• CMA must be certified through recognized bodies (AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA)
• LPN must be licensed in South Carolina or a compact state
• BLS certification required for both roles

Physical & Other Requirements

• Ability to perform tasks while standing, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent visual, auditory, and tactile sensory functions
• Ability to work in various environments and stressful situations
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed
