About the role
Our Mass General Brigham Medical Group community healthcare center in Haverhill offers the latest in diagnostics, technology, and research, providing unparalleled acute, chronic, and wellness care. We are seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Medical Assistant to support our Internal Medicine team onsite at 1 Park Way, Haverhill. The desired schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
This role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. The role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
- Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
- Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
- Act as a liaison with other departments and advocate for patients with a positive customer service approach.
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required (Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) preferred.
This role does not accept experience in lieu of a degree.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $24.94 per hour (Grade 3). Base pay is determined by skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Onsite at 1 Parkway, Haverhill.
