About the role
The position requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within the business and profession code of the State of California and/or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC).
Responsibilities
- scheduling patient appointments and associated patient system screens;
- accurate billing;
- environmental care functions;
- equipment/supply management;
- cleaning/disinfecting the environment.
Requires knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics. The position also includes additional clinical responsibilities in specialized health fields and utilizes additional certification and/or training to support procedures, technical functions, or other higher-level specialist duties as required.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
- Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Proven knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics.
- Strong ability to take initiative, prioritize demands and work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Additional Qualifications
- Three (3) years of medical assistant experience.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certification.
Pay
Annual Full Pay Range: $56,063 - $74,020 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).
Hiring Pay Scale: $25.31 - $35.92/ Hour
Schedule
Days, 8-Hour Shifts, Sunday-Saturday
Benefits
Depends on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the MAII or MAIII level.
