Overview
IU Health Ball Memorial Physicians Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join their busy and rewarding pediatric practice. The position requires certification status, full-time 40 hours per week, rotating schedule, one rotating Saturday per month, and benefits including 401(k) with employer match, tuition reimbursement, student loan forgiveness eligibility, and an Employee Assistance Program.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and obtaining clinical information
- Administering immunizations
- Performing point-of-care testing
- Supporting refill requests and clinical pools
- Completing pre-visit planning activities
- Aiding in patient documentation and provider paperwork
- Collaborating with providers and teammates to deliver exceptional care
- Supporting patient-facing responsibilities
- Flexibility to support different providers as needed
Requirements
- Certification Status: Full-Time/40 hours per week
- Location: 200 N. Tillotson Ave., Muncie
- Schedule: Monday–Friday with rotating start and end times
- Weekend Requirement: One rotating Saturday per month (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant program
- Current certification in medical assisting from America Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Center for competency Testing (NCMA), and/or American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
- Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- TB validated (to administer or read) or validation obtained within 6 months of hire preferred
- Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs and concepts within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures
- Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers
- Basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills
