Patient Experience
Greets patients in courteous, friendly, respectful and professional manner always, including maintaining eye contact when appropriate.
Follows communication protocols.
Responds to customer questions/concerns/complaints and attempts resolution.
Pursues service recovery when customer’s expectations have not been met.
Primary Responsibilities
- Fulfills job duties requiring access to medication storage areas and to transport medications to/from medication storage and delivery areas.
- Participates in day-to-day operations and patient flow.
- Acts as a resource for Medical Assistant I.
- Collaborates, teams, communicates, is accountable, provides excellent customer service, and demonstrates advanced knowledge of clinical skills.
Active Participant in Clinic Huddles/Staff Meetings
Participates in medical assistant skill development and competency evaluation.
Assists with Front Desk Operations
- Affords patient check-in and check-out assistance.
- Scans and files patient records.
- Answers patient phone calls.
- Discloses fees to patients.
- Remediates or escalates potential barriers to a positive patient experience.
Enhances Patient and Family Experience
- Informing of possible delays.
- Remediating or escalating safety concerns.
Adminstrative Duties
- Timely review of business communication, such as In Basket, email, and telecommunications.
- Maintains a safe environment of care and reports safety concerns.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft Office, is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- One year of supervised work experience in a medical assisting field within the last 3 years, or two years of supervised work experience in a medical assisting field within the last 5 years.
Current BLS Certification
Required.
Medical Assistant Certification
PREFERRED.
