About the role

Support a high-volume, multi-specialty clinic (Cardiovascular, Nephrology, Vascular) with 90% patient rooming and 10% administrative tasks. Assist with pre-op preparation, supply restocking, and workflow support.

Responsibilities

  • Assure completeness of ordered procedures and treatments
  • Assure smooth patient flow
  • Perform general lab work
  • Instruct patients concerning procedures, treatments, and needs
  • Ensure medical orders and referrals are carried out accurately and in a timely manner
  • Perform registration and scheduling activities per organizational and departmental procedures
  • Maintain EMR files and perform general front office functions as needed
  • Perform computerized physician order entry when directed by assigned physician
  • Precept current MA team members or MA Externs as requested by leadership

Requirements

  • Current MA certification from one of the following: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or CMAC
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Ability to master standard clinical competencies per current Clinical policy, Point of Care and Skills Competency checklists
  • Basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills

Additional Skills (Preferred)

  • Cross-specialty rooming
  • EKGs and point-of-care testing
  • Interest in wound care support
