Medical Assistant I (Bilingual)

About the role

Provide clinical support to healthcare providers, ensuring efficient patient care through tasks such as taking vital signs, recording medical history, assisting with examinations, preparing patients, and performing routine screenings. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, while maintaining compliance with legal and safety standards. Manage medical supplies, document accurately, and support health education initiatives. Handle phone communications, coordinate diagnostic tests, and maintain clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and medical history
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and screenings
• Provide patient education and health coaching
• Manage medical documentation and coordinate diagnostic tests
• Maintain clinical supplies and ensure safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff
• Handle administrative tasks such as phone screening and fax processing

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical assistant training preferred
• Minimum one year of clinical experience or training
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control
• Experience with geriatric patients a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to multitask
