Medical Assistant I

POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for assisting physicians with basic patient care and providing exceptional customer service to patients while adhering to established protocols, processes, and volume without compromising quality.

Essential Functions

• Basic rooming, along with creating surgery orders & x-ray orders
• Phreesia/MIPS Input
• Maintain supplies, equipment, prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms, stocking and sterilizing instruments ensuring patient rooms are stocked, cleaned, and presentable
• Absorb and provide assistance during minor in-office procedures
• Absorb and ensure all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are entered in the patient’s file and available to the physician prior to patient arrival
• Absorb and ensure all consent forms are completed, signed and filed
• Respond to patient / physician / pharmacy calls and assist with their needs
• Absorb and assist with phone room rescheduling patients
• OSHA sign off lists

Required Qualifications And Skills

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 1 years working as a medical assistant preferred
• Strong focus on patient quality and customer service
• Excellent follow through to see tasks to completion
• Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
• Possesses a high degree of self-motivation and produces high quality work with minimal supervision
