Medical Assistant I

Job Duties

• Prepares patients for their visit, gathers information, registers patients, prepares medical charts
• Performs point-of-care testing and routine procedures, assists providers with more complex procedures
• Makes appointments when necessary, ensures smooth patient flow throughout clinic
• Answers the phone utilizing excellent customer service skills, contacts and confirms patient appointments
• Schedules appointments as needed, prepares patients for their visit by distributing health questionnaires, obtaining medical and/or social history
• Records charges in the electronic health record as needed, performs routine procedures as required per patient visit
• Assists providers with routine and complex procedures (pap smears, IUD placements, colposcopy, NST’s, minor surgeries, etc.)
