About the role

As a Medical Assistant in General and Vascular Surgery at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their surgical care journey. You will work closely with surgeons, advanced practice providers, and the care team, assisting with patient visits, procedure preparation, care coordination, and follow-up care.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and visit details.
  • Aid providers with examinations, minor procedures, and specialty clinical workflows.
  • Prepare patients for office visits, procedures, and surgical consultations.
  • Cook up referrals, diagnostic testing, imaging, prior authorizations, medication refills, and follow-up appointments.
  • Communicate provider recommendations, test results, surgical instructions, and patient education materials.
  • Respond to patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Aid with procedure room preparation, inventory management, and equipment readiness.
  • Support preoperative and postoperative patient education and care coordination.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support general and vascular surgery clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • CPR certification is required (available upon hire).
  • A Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience in a physician office, surgical specialty, or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills are essential.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities is necessary.
  • Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care is required.

Pay

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 - $24.18 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
